Google's Pixel 8 series is making its debut on October 4, following the iPhone 15 release. This series includes two models: Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The Pixel 8, with its attractive price, is likely to capture a wide audience. Both models are expected to offer a similar software experience with minor adjustments and run Android 14. Design changes may be subtle, while performance upgrades are anticipated.
Design: Leaks suggest the Pixel 8 will resemble its predecessor, the Pixel 7, with a rear camera bar and a flat display featuring a punch-hole cutout. The standard Pixel may maintain dual rear cameras, while the Pro version could sport three rear sensors. Color options are expected to include white and black, with the possibility of a thinner and lighter design.
Display: The Pixel 8 may feature a slightly smaller display, with a 6.17-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen, offering 1,400 nits of peak brightness and 427 ppi. The regular model is likely to retain a flat display.
Software and Performance: Powered by the in-house Tensor G3 chipset, developed in collaboration with Samsung's Exynos, the Pixel 8 may house a 4,485mAh battery. Charging options include 24W fast wired charging and 20W wireless charging, although the charger may not be included. Google's AI and ML capabilities, such as live translations and photo enhancements, are expected to be prominent features.
Cameras: The Pixel 8's camera setup could comprise a 50-megapixel GN2 primary sensor, a 12-megapixel IMX386 ultra-wide sensor, and a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor for enhanced subject detection. These improvements promise a 35% boost in light processing and better HDR. The front camera may feature an 11-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.
Price: Exact pricing details will be unveiled at the launch event. The Google Pixel 7 was introduced at Rs 59,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Stay tuned for more updates."
