Google has also joined this movement, announcing its plans to commence manufacturing Pixel smartphones in India, with the latest model scheduled for release next year. Anand Mahindra, the prominent industrialist and owner of an India-made iPhone 15, recently shared a heartwarming anecdote in response to Google's announcement. Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), the chairman of the Mahindra group expressed immense pride in owning a smartphone that was manufactured in India. In addition, he recounted the reaction of a U.S. salesperson when informed that his iPhone 15 was indeed 'Made in India.'
A post on the X platform by 'Indian Tech and Infra' outlined Google's intentions to produce Pixel phones in India, stating, "Google is set to embark on manufacturing Pixel smartphones in India, commencing with the latest model set to debut in 2024."

Mr. Mahindra shared this post and shared his own story. He wrote, "During a recent visit to a Verizon store in the U.S., I needed a local SIM card. In a moment of pride, I informed the salesperson that my iPhone 15 was proudly 'Made in India.' His raised eyebrows and pleasant surprise made the moment all the more special," he added, "I also own a Google Pixel. When the India-made version becomes available, I intend to make the switch. At that point, I can proudly declare that my Pixel is also 'Made in India.' Yet, I anticipate there will be no raised eyebrows then because, by that time, India will have unquestionably established itself as a global manufacturing powerhouse."
